ARTIST STATEMENT

We are all guests in this beautiful little universe we call home. We’re here to contribute what we can, to teach and to learn. My contribution?... I see a wisdom in Nature and the creatures that share this Earth, we just need to listen. I hope my paintings will amplify that voice.

I am driven through a deep determination, to translate that voice, that feeling, into a vision. So I live an examined life. I contemplate, I question, I observe, I paint. Often finding insight in the quiet, simple moments where I see beauty, hope and inspiration that I’d like to convey to the world.

So it leads me on… exploring color that stirs the soul where passages manifest a subtle strength and add beauty to the whole. I invite you into this unspoken conversation with intriguing shapes and compositions, where the interest of the painted surface gives you pause to contemplate and where brushwork is loose to make space for your own interpretations. I look for a way to bring a still, calm place into the confines of the canvas, to take away the background noise and give the viewer a comfortable place to rest…. and listen to your own heart while you join in the conversation. All the while, trusting that the metaphor, the voice will follow, like an echo from the canvas.
