A real honor!

Updated: Dec 7, 2025

Artists filled the streets and painted the town of Camas Washington this weekend for the annual Camas Plein Air Show. I was one of them. When our painting time was up, we each framed our two wet paintings to be hung at the Red Door Gallery for a culminating show and reception.

At the reception, I received the Artist's Choice Award!

There were a lot of great artists participating - 38 in all - so to be chosen for that award by fellow artists of that caliber was truly an honor.

The Show was started by Marquita Call, a woman who was a strong advocate of the Arts in Camas. She passed away in 2023 and the Show continues on as a tribute. I heard many glowing words from the people she inspired. It was also an honor to be involved in celebrating her inspiration.

Thank you to all who were involved in the organizing as well as to Red Door Gallery for hosting the event.... the fabulous homemade scones and truffles were sure nice too... MUCH appreciated.

AND, it's a cute town to paint!

The Show continues at the Red Door Gallery in Camas Washington through October 25, 2025.
