GET OUTSIDE!

Phew... With all the "Art action" lately, I haven't taken a breathe to write much.

After my slide show & talk Brushes In The Wild, painting at the Manzanita Farmers Market and then participating in the Artist Studio Tours - all within this past week! - extra time has been hard to come by.

Thanks to all who attended, bought my work, purchased our new book, or stopped by to say "Hi". It was fun to get 'out and about' so much and talk Art!

I heard from many of you that my talk inspired you to get outside and paint. So I wanted to piggy back onto that spark of inspiration and light the fire even more... I'm hoping that a lot of photos from behind my outdoor easel will do just that.

Yes, taking your easel and paints outside sure adds a few complications, but the knowledge you gain painting directly from life is well worth it!

And as I said in my talk, you just never know what will happen when you get out there... Enjoy the adventure!

For a new and different outside experience for me, I'll be taking my paints out to a vineyard to paint very soon. If you want to see the results in person, the paintings will be hung for the reception August 15 at Balsall Creek Estate House.

Whether you want to paint outside or not... It's summer time - get outside and soak it in! :-)

Let's finish this up with a quote from my slide show & talk...

The essence of all beautiful art, all great art,

is gratitude.

-Friedrich Nietzsche

Thanks for being part of my Art community!
