Brushes In The Wild :
Art, Nature & Unexpected Encounters
...the title of the slide show and talk I'm presenting at the Hoffman Center for the Arts in Manzanita Oregon on Sunday July 12 at 2:00 pm.
Decades of painting outside year round in the wilderness have provided many entertaining stories for me to include - from the challenges, to the rewards and the wildlife I've met along the way.

A lot of beautiful scenery will be part of the presentation since I've had the opportunity to paint and live in the Adirondack Mountains, Yellowstone National Park, Montana, and the Oregon Coast.

I'll bring along paintings and our new book "There's A Weasel On My Easel" (by myself and my daughter) since that was inspired by one of my wildlife encounters while painting in the wilderness. I'll also be bringing my painting backpack to show the equipment I take out with me.

For comedy relief, I mixed some personal stories into the talk - of my many years as a self-employed artist raising children. Not for the faint of heart! And the art teacher in me can't help but take you to Europe for some Art History too.
I was lucky enough to capture several short video clips of many of those unexpected wildlife encounters that I'll be sharing in the slideshow to startle you as well! :-) Then, we'll have time for any questions...
It will be on Sunday July 12, 2026 from 2:00 to 3:30 pm at the Hoffman Center for the Arts in Manzanita, Oregon. More details are on my Events & Classes page.
Mark it on your calendar and set a reminder - I'd love to see you there!
